Although they were initially excited to try on the pilgrim costumes, I had to bribe them with cookies to keep them on long enough to snap a picture!

Like the original pilgrims, we enjoyed turkey, corn, potatoes and dried apples; however the dessert -frosted animal cookies with sprinkles - brought us back to the 21st century.

Aboard the Mayflower, T/Th Class

Learning about the pilgrim's ocean voyage across the great Atlantic become a bit more real as we attempted our own ship ride. A fan and spray bottle of water created just the effect we needed to feel we were really riding the waves!

Stone, Lily, Paityn, Hannah, Julia, Jaden, Paige, and Grant enjoy an ocean ride that proved to be very entertaining. I don't know who was laughing harder, the students or the teachers!

Halloween Parade and Program T/Th Class

We certainly missed Lily and Hannah who were ill on our big day. :(

Halloween Parade and Program M/W Class

What fun it is to dress up and pretend! We had special guest appearances by Batman, a Ninja Turtle, a Power Ranger, a Race Car Driver, and Dash. Aka Trenton, Patrick, Tyler, Reagan, and Ethan.

Pumpkin Ball is a Ball! T/Th Class

Julia, Lily, Jaden, Alexis, Hannah, Paige, and Grant. Whose pumpkin was the closest? Oh, we're all winners at preschool! :)

Wahoo! Look at those pumpkins fly!

Pumpkin Ball Round Two, M/W Class

Trenton, Reagan, Tyler, Ethan, and Patrick are set to roll their pumpkins. The one stopping closest to the "mother" pumpkin is the winner!

Black paper faces turn our pumpkins into easy jack-o-lanterns. This version is easier on my nerves than traditional knife carving. :)

Debbie, our full-time volunteer had a birthday in October. The students presented her with two large cards, all decked out with their creative artwork!

Textured Fingerpainting

Textured, slimey fingerpaint provided a fun medium for practicing our sense of touch. I am amused by how well fingerpainting reveals personalities and preferences. Some children managed to stay very clean during this art project and others. . .well, they were not so clean. :)

The nine exhibits from my T/Th class, above, illustrate this point. Look closely to see how differently each student used the same materials.

Ironically, my class of all boys was the least thrilled with finger paint. About thirty seconds into the project and they were calling it a day! Fortunately, spreading the paint with craft sticks(as you can see above) was much more tolerable for them and the project was saved. :)
